Another semester and Another themed party! this one was “Mary Kate and Ashley through the years” my friend Joey and I went as the twins in their NYU days.
I wore a navy and zebra floor length dress I got at Carolina Thrift for 5 bucks. It was a little big so I took it in under the arms and raised the waist line. I added the sunglasses, head wrap, scarf and sweater to make it a little more “Mary Kate”
I definitely plan on wearing this dress for multiple other occasions!

in this case I pared the Jellyfish leggings with a solid grey tee, leather studded jacket, and Jeffrey Campbell sneakers

my outfit from the ABC party two years ago.
yes i’m wearing a lot of clothes, but I am also wearing a lot of paper cranes ;)
the other weekend we had an Anything But Clothes party, which to the rest of the world probably means one thing but to a bunch of theater kids it means showing off our creativity and innovation any way we can!
last year I was lame and didn’t make an outfit for the ABC party because I knew I couldn’t outdo the year before (click here to see) but this year I finally had another stroke of genius.
I cut up a large t-shirt (which is technically clothes) into a short halter dress then I spent 3hrs sewing on paper plates that I had cut into sections. I am really pleased with the outcome and it was a big hit at the party!
I added some paper plate details in my hair and some crazy false lashes and… ta-da!
everyone really went all out, I was so proud of our departments commitment and creativity, they never cease to amaze me :)

Hello all, I am trying to get back in the swing of posting again.
I snapped a quick pic in the rehearsal studio yesterday. Sweater was thrifted and the jumper under was made by me.
my hair currently is a mix of Rockabilly Blue and Hot Hot Pink. So speaking of my hair I have gone on a shampoo hiatus. lately my hair has been really flat and stringy and uncooperative in just about every way. I noticed it gets even worse when it is newly washed so i stopped washing my hair. I still shower and condition and all that but since I have stopped shampooing my hair, it has had much more body. I haven’t had problems with fly-aways and it actually has natural bounce and movement to it while suprisingly remaining smooth without being greasy
If you haven’t tried not washing your hair, I suggest you do it haha (if anything it saves you on shampoo)

here are my completed thrift store shorts!
I cut them to the desired length, frayed the edges, and I had to take the side seams in a bit to make them fit just right
I added a beaded detail up the side because I couldn’t find studs :( and I cut some slits along the pocket to rough them up a bit
lastly I added a Yin Yang side to the back pocket :)

This shirt was one of my early attempts at bleach dying and fabric painting
I am pretty happy with it but I did manage to improve my technique for the shirt I am making for the give-away!! (so keep a look out)
